This was the first System Of A Down album I ever bought. Like so many over sixteen year old at the time that enjoyed the alternative music covered by MTV2, NME and Kerrang magazine I too had purchased the Toxicity album. The big hits of course being Chop Suey!, Toxicity and Aerials, and these songs attracted me to the album. This time round for the paintings I have used a black Daler Rowney acrylic ink. The influences for these paintings include Scientology, Bronson, Picasso, premature birth, Battle of the Somme, poverty and relationships in many facets.
The first album but my second purchase know by ownership from the Stevenage Virgin store, and painted in this series of work. I use black Parker ink again together with water. I was most looking forward to painting Spiders. I remember the video on MTV2 when I was in sixth form ages ago now. Influences for these paintings are in C. S. Lewis, Soylent Green, John Martin, Catholicism, Doppelgänger, Brighton Rock, The Crusades and of course the Armenian Genocide.
Self-portraits from over two months.
I have had many late nights last week because of using the darkroom in the kitchen.
The first box of books is pack, and I got a box of electronics packed away. Most of my purchased fiction. Of course there are still more books boxes to go.
